Trilingual book of poetry
A trilingual poetry collection (Greenlandic, Danish, and English) in which poetry, performance, and visual art intertwine to express an Arctic pain that is simultaneously ecological, historical, and intimate. Echoing her performance practice, the author invokes mythical figures such as Sassuma Arnaaq (the Sea Mother), while denouncing the effects of Danish colonialism and the ravages of global warming. Kleemann situates her work within a postcolonial aesthetic deeply influenced by melting ice, territorial memory, and Inuit survival. Nominated for the Nordic Council Prize for Literature, this collection embodies a committed, hybrid, and profoundly Nordic poetic form.
In Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
