Publication of two children's albums co-created with students from Inuvijik (Nunavik), Walrus Island. ᑐᑦᔮᑦ and L’ île aux morses. ᑐᑦᔮᑦ. Tutjaat

Those two children's albums, one in English and in Inuktitut and the other in French and Inuktitut, has been co-created with students from Inujivik (Nunavik), based on a traditional Inuit story. To celebrate their grandmother’s birthday, Lucassie and Siaja want to give her some unforgettable gifts. They head for Tutjaat, the walrus island! This story for young people, inspired by an Inuit oral tale, was co-written and illustrated by students from Nuvviti School during a workshop in Ivujivik, Nunavik. It focuses on how to prepare igunaq, fermented walrus, by telling the story of a sea journey taken to preserve and share this culinary tradition in the community of Ivujivik, Québec’s northernmost village.

Published in cooperation with Un livre à la fois and Nuvviti school.

Two podcasts accompany these children's albums.
